GGF Networking Breakfast

2026-04-16 · Nairobi, Kenya

We were pleased by the great turnout and interesting discussions at the GGF Networking Breakfast and the Global Distributors Collective’s Last Mile Distribution Forum in Nairobi.

During the breakfast networking session, Natália Batista, Senior Credit and Portfolio Manager at GGF, introduced solar distributors to GGF’s approach to providing continuous inventory financing to companies that demonstrate consistent performance. She explained how GGF's iterative, results-based financing approach allows businesses to grow at their own pace, while reducing investment costs.

The high turnout of 55+ stakeholders and the many questions during Q&A confirmed a strong need for inclusive financing. Many distributors lack financing due to ticket size, complex due diligence, and high transaction costs. GGF overcomes these constraints with cost-efficient due diligence, right-sized investments, and real-time portfolio monitoring, helping boost investor confidence and support sustainable growth. The morning’s highlights included a practical assessment of companies’ eligibility and an inspiring testimonial from one of GGF's investees, Mou Deng Riiny from SunGate Solar, who shared how GGF’s inventory financing has helped drive the sustainable growth of his company in South Sudan.

We were also pleased to present GGF at the Global Distributors Collective’s Last Mile Distribution Forum, supported by the Transforming Energy Access platform and GET.invest. Natália shared how GGF’s results-based inventory financing is supporting solar distributors across Sub-Saharan Africa to scale sustainably during the “Pitching for Success” panel. The session brought together ~100 people, including 50 last-mile distribution companies and 30+ investors, funders and partners to discuss funding challenges, what financiers look for, and to provide real-time pitch feedback. GGF’s approach stood out for its streamlined due diligence, smaller ticket sizes and flexible repayment terms – an ideal fit for distributors on the panel and attendees.

GGF looks forward to welcoming further distributors into their portfolio through inclusive financing – supporting their scale-up and extending energy access across sub-Saharan Africa.
