A2EI workshop series on collective approaches to achieving SDG7
On September 21th/22nd, A2EI will be hosting a series of workshops to brainstorm collective approaches to tackling some of the most pressing challenges on the road to achieving SDG7: 1) strategies to #LeaveNoOneBehind, 2) how to procure working capital for (sm)all distributors, and 3) improving digitization.
-
Even through there has been progress towards SDG7, it is estimated that over 519 million people, mostly in Sub-Saharan Africa, will still lack energy access by 2030. We will brainstorm strategies on how to actually get clean energy solutions to everyone.
-
To bridge the affordability gap, we will aim to find solutions to one of the main constraints for growth – making working capital available for local distributors. We will develop strategies on to build a widely accessible facility, and how to define financiers, beneficiaries, and management.
-
Last but not least we will be looking at the potential of digital solutions to support achieving SDG7 – e.g. by reporting accurately and transparently, while having the ability to automatically monetize impact.
Together, we aim to create a “Think and Do Tank” to accelerate innovations to get as close as possible to SDG7 by 2030. We have invited key experts representing a wide variety of fields within the off-grid solar sector. Nevertheless, with limited space available, we rely on your virtual input as well. We would love to hear your ideas, input, concerns on these topics! Please tag us @A2EI_ with the hashtag #A2EIWorkshop or email us at info@a2ei.org.
We will keep you up-to-date on the outcomes of our first workshop series – and look forward to collectively working on solutions to achieve SDG7!
