New report on using electric pressure cookers in Kigali, Rwanda
A2EI recently supported a study led by SEforAll and Nexleaf Analytics on the adoption of electric pressure cookers in Kigali, Rwanda. 100 households that purchased electric pressure cookers had their cooking behaviors tracked through a combination of surveys, stove use monitors, and appliance energy meters. The study found that households viewed their EPCs favorably and used them an average of 1.4 times per day throughout the study period, resulting in a 30% reduction in charcoal usage.
This study was done in partnership with SEforAll, Nexleaf Analytics, MECS, Electrocook, and Climate Solutions Consulting with support from the Swedish Postcode Foundation.
