Prospect launched as dMRV platform for Tanzania rural electrification program

We are excited to announce the launch of Prospect as the dMRV platform for the Tanzania Rural Electrification Expansion Program’s (TREEP) RBF component!

Supported by the The World Bank, TREEP has helped Tanzania achieve one of the fastest energy access expansion rates in Sub-Saharan Africa. However, challenges remain with low rural electrification levels. To address this, TREEP is not only expanding grid connections but is also implementing offgrid solar and clean cooking appliance results-based financing (RBF) programs – which will be digitally supported by Prospect.

Over the past months, the Prospect team has customized the platform to meet TREEP’s specific needs and facilitated onboarding of all key stakeholders. The automated collection, aggregation, and analysis of recorded data will empower Tanzanian government officials to effectively monitor all installations and assess progress toward the National Renewable Energy Strategy. Energy service companies will be able to digitize their sales seamlessly, with installations verified independently, automatically, and digitally – ensuring rapid RBF disbursements.

We are proud to support the Tanzanian Ministry of Energy and Minerals and Tanzania’s Rural Energy Agency in promoting clean cooking solutions, reducing health risks and deforestation, and expanding clean energy access for rural households!
